I have great news. I have been working with Dr. Derek Thomas for a number of years now in order to put together the old Derby Porcelain Pattern Books. These books were produced at the Derby factory for the china painters to follow and also, it is said, for prospective clients to chose their favourite pattern for a new dinner service, tea service, etc.
There are separate books for "Plate Patterns" and "Tea Patterns". Derek published his work on the Tea Patterns some time ago, and this can be found on www.derbyteawares.com In the forthcoming weeks I plan to add my work on the Plate Patterns to his website. Actual items decorated with the patterns will appear alongside the original sketches from the Derby books.
