A beautiful Coalport porcelain pot pourri vase of rare form, decorated in scale blue ground and with hand painted flowers in white reserves.

The vase is rectangular and features handles comprising gilded birds and is set upon four lions paw feet.

The hand painted flowers are superb and feature purple and mustard colours, which suggest that they could be the work of highly regarded artist, Josiah Patten.

The vase dates to c1800.  It carries no factory markings.

Condition:    The base is in excellent condition, save for some losses to the gilt bird handles. The delicate lid has unfortunately been broken and restuck and there are some losses.  However, the vase can be displayed so that the damage is not too obvious.
