A beautiful Derby porcelain dessert dish in a very striking pattern, dating to c1800.
The dish features hand painted roses and pearls, set within diamond shape and oval reserves upon a rich red ground. There is a further central rosem surrounded by a gilt band, triangles and leaves.
Unusually, the dish is marked with the factory mark in gold, usually signifying that this was decorated by one of Derby's premier artists. William Billingsley would have left the factory by the time the dish was produced, and I am at a loss to pin down the exact artist.
In good condition throughout, save for some loss to gilding.
