A beautiful Coalport tankard or porter mug, dating to c1825, and featuring hand painted flowers by Josiah Patten.

Josiah Patten was highly regarded at Coalport and became renowned for his use of a strong mustard yellow, often in direct opposition to purple within his groupings of flowers.

The tankard features two of his flower groupings and carries the initials of its original owner, 'JC' in gold.

In excellent condition throughout.  No factory markings.
