A stunning small Derby vase, featuring beautifully painted flowers on a sumpteous gold ground - the work of one of Derby's premier artists, William "Quaker" Pegg during his second period at the factory.

There are gilded handles to either side in the form of coiled snakes, together with further gilt highlights.

The vase stands approximately 13 cm tall and is in good condition for its age, save for restoration to the two gilded snake handles and a little retouching to the gilt at the inner part of the rim.

Marked with crown, crossed batons, dots and D in red.
